Combined with Surface, seems like it could be pretty cool. Actually I'm not that excited about it for RPG purposes, but I'd love to see something like this adapted so that you could download and play board games!

I've heard of it, but I didn't think it was particularly different from other "virtual tabletop" software like Maptools, TTopRPG, Fantasy Grounds, etc.

I'm a little behind the times.

Mostly it's a fairly standard evolution of Maptools, although the ability to track and auto-update creature statuses is new. The video obviously took some time to put together, though. The Dice Rolling system is also substantially less good than Fantasy Grounds. All in all, it's not going to rock anyone's socks.

The time will soon come, however, when there will be a worthwhile VTT product. Watch this space.

I've played a dozen Pathfinder Society games via Maptools or TTopRPG (with either Skype or Ventrilo for audio). It's not bad; some of the tools are quite useful, like templates for bursts/lines/cones, movement counting, "fog of war" lighting, initiative trackers, etc. Maptools also has the ability to auto-magically keep track of bonuses for your character like Haste, Bless, bardic music, etc. if you set it up correctly. Of course there's a learning curve, and you also have to deal with people's flaky internet connections.
